The National Rehabilitation Program is carried out all across Palestine, with the aim of reaching and providing comprehensive rehabilitation for children with disabilities from the Palestinian cities and villages.
- The program is done through an Outreach Program, where the rehabilitation team of Princess Basma Centre pays frequent weekly visits to partner rehabilitation centres in the West Bank Governorates of Ramallah, Nablus, Qalqiliah, Jenin, Hebron, and Jericho, in addition to Jerusalem. During these visits Children with Disabilities are diagnosed and referred to our centre in Jerusalem for a comprehensive and specialized rehabilitation program. - Also, this program aims at empowering the mothers and the families of children with disabilities s as well as their local communities with the knowledge and the awareness of the needs and rights of children with disabilities. Read more about our Mother Empowerment Program.
- During this program Princess Basma Centre was also able to establish three autism classrooms in Rafidia/Nablus, Tulkarem, and Ramallah. Treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorder was added to the rehabilitation services at Princess Basma Centre in 2011, where in addition to establishing classrooms in the partner centres in the West Bank another classroom and a sensory room were also established in the centre in Jerusalem. - Finally, through the outreach program Princess Basma Centre provides capacity building for partner rehabilitation centres in the West Bank with the aim to transfer the knowledge and expertise in the fields of rehabilitation through the training and support of staff during the rehabilitation process of children with disabilities receiving treatment at these centres.
