Audiology Unit
The newly established Audiology Unit at the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre is a pivotal addition to our services, offering comprehensive hearing assessments that significantly enhance the quality of care for Palestinian children with disabilities. By addressing the hearing needs of children, the unit strengthens our Speech and Language therapy programs, equipping therapists with critical insights to better understand and address each child’s unique challenges. This advanced facility represents our commitment to providing innovative and inclusive therapeutic solutions.
““It’s a great addition to our package of services to have the Audiology services. Every week we meet children who need Audiology assessment, now we are able to provide them.
Having this service will of course enhance our Speech and Language therapies, since we are going to have a better understanding of the cases.
On a personal level, this new unit will help us as Speech and Language therapists, to widen our experience”
Tamara Hijazeen – Speech and Language therapist”
To ensure the effective operation of the new unit, our Speech and Language therapists participated in an intensive audiology training program led by a specialist. The training focused on hearing assessment techniques tailored to children with disabilities, including autism, ADHD, and communication delays, blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice. The Audiology Unit is a testament to our dedication to delivering holistic, high-quality care for children and their families.
