The Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre received a delegation from Embrace the Middle East, led by the Director of Programs and Partnership Mr. Jami Eyre, and the Programs and Partnership Manager Mrs. Lydia Nash. This visit has come as part of their continuous support for JPBC and our Outreach Program in the West Bank, which was initiated though a generous fund by Embrace the Middle East. Which has started is continuing for over 21 years.

The visit started at the Child Rehabilitation Centre and the Inclusive school. Then the delegation, together with the Basma team arrived at the Al- Karama Centre in Al- Jalazone Refugee Camp, which is one of our partner centers in the West Bank.

Mr. Jami expressed his gratitude for the partnership with the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre. he added “Every time I visit this Centre, there is something new and positive, and an organization always learning and looking to improve, is an organization always adapting to need and listening to its beneficiaries.”

In addition, Mrs. Lydia stated that “It is wonderful to see the staff of JPBC so committed to working together serving children and their families across the West Bank through this Outreach Program. Embrace is grateful for this visit day, and for this partnership. I am proud to be a part of it.”

From her side, the General Director of the Jerusalem Princess Basma Centre, Mrs. Mubarak, explained that “We are very grateful for our partnership with Embrace. Together we focus on a single goal to sustain high quality services for children and families in the field. Through Embrace’s support, we are empowered to think bigger and better, forever striving to reach more centers and more children with disabilities.”

Moreover, this visit comes at a time when the management of the Basma Centre is working on enhancing services it provides and expanding the reach of our multidisciplinary team through the partner centers in the West Bank within the Outreach Program.

It is worthy of noting that the Outreach Program provides assessments for Palestinian Children with disabilities in the field through our partner centers throughout the West Bank, serving at least 1000 children every year by providing medical assessments and referrals to our Child Rehabilitation Centre or to other caregivers as needed.

Our multidisciplinary team also provides specialized professional training for staff members in these partner centers. This program aims to develop the capacities of the workers in the field of rehabilitation, in order to obtain the highest quality of service provision.
